Almost done!
The creative juices have been flowing and I've been busy working on creating my first full size kit. When it's done, it will be available here for free, so check back often. I've got a few more elements to add, but a good portion is done, enough done that I used it for a speed scrap tonight at the Digi Scraps Drive In.
Yee Haw! I'm a winner!
This week I responded to a giveaway in the forum at Gotta Pixel and guess what? I was picked! I won Kathryn Estry's new kit called Cheeky Monkeys.
I'll be back later with some cute layouts of my little monkeys using this kit.
You can find the kit here at Gotta Pixel.

Friday Night Freebie
Just finished a fun speed scrap over at the Digi Scraps Drive In and one of the elements used in this scrap was a Photo Mask. Now one of the designers kindly gave us a fantastic mask to use, but since I had just made my first photo mask for a previous scrap, I decided I would try making another one for this speed scrap. So heres the layout...
And for fun, I'm giving away my first freebie,
the photo mask I used in this layout
You can download the mask HERE

One Last Layout Tonight
Just wanted to share one last layout tonight. I have sure been enjoying going back through some older pictures. I'm just amazed at how fast time has gone by and how much the kids have grown. So fun to remember when they were little.
They just grow up way too fast.

My First Mini Kit!
As part of a recent color challenge at Digi Scraps Drive In, I created my first Mini Kit. In a color challenge the host provides a color pallet which looks like this
And the participants either create a layout using a specified kit with this color scheme, or create their own mini kit.
I've been itching to try creating some of my own things, so I opted for creating a mini kit. Here's a look at what I came up with...
My kit contains 7 papers and 6 different elements. I did a few girly items and a few boyish items. You are welcome to download and use my kit here. Oh this is so fun!

A Logo in the Works
I've been busy, busy the past few days going through photoshop and illustrator tutorials trying to learn techniques and methods for digital designing. First off I wanted to create a logo, so this is what I came up with
I've also created a facebook fan page. You can see a link to my Facebook page in the right hand column. If you'll "Like" my Bonnie Blou Designs page, you will be able to see automatic updates of this blog on your facebook news feed. Isn't technology great!

Photographic Work
I was digging through some old photos this weekend. You know the kind that used to come in an envelope with a set a negatives? That's right, pre-digital camera pictures. I have many shoe box size boxes of prints that I need to go through and scan someday. Anyway, as I thumbed through my old prints, it became quite clear that I was not a good photographer in the old days. I like to think I have improved some, but I noticed that I still have a tendancy to want the entire scene in my photo. What typically ends up happening is that I have a great landscape type picture with a tiny subject in the middle. When I look at other artists layouts and see those great close up shots of their kids and family, I love it. So my goal, this weekend, was to work on my close ups. Thankfully I was able to get my kids to agree to help me in this area and so became the pictures for my next layout.

Sunday Scrapping
Just finished another layout with a new kit called "Tool Box" by C.W.Picket and Co. over at the Digi Scraps Driven-In.
I pulled these photos out of the family archives (aka the craft room) and scanned them in today. These were taken way back in June 2001, pre digital camera days. Made me realize that I have tons of pictures I should get scanned into my computer, not a tiny job. Have a great week!

My first Siggie, aka Signature
Today I created my first "Siggie" which is a term used when referring to a signature used on a scrapbooking forum. Everybody has one, so I had to make one for myself too!
This siggie was created with the Riviera Daydreams kit by Misty Caty
Some Recent Layouts
I thought I'd share with you some recent layouts I've been working on.
This layout was created using a kit called
"Riviera Daydreams" by Misty Cato
This layout was created using a technique called
an extraction where part of the picture is removed so that the remaining part appears to be jumping right out of the picture frame. I used a kit called "Good Eye" by Libby Weifenbach

Here we go!
Well the blog page designing is underway. If you stop by occassionally, you may see that it looks completely different from the last time you stopped by. I'm still trying to decide on a color palette for the blog and I'm also trying to figure out if I want to be fun and bright, or cool and contemporary, or possibly warm and soothing. So many options!
